Yeah? Just TRY living with the surname FARQUHAR.
mis/pronounciations abound. Some I've heard:

Forker
Far-koo-har
Far-kwar
Far-gwar
Far-gwa-har
Far-kwa-har
Foe-kwa (for people who think it's french)
Fair-kwer

(Incidentally, according to the locals during my folks' last visit to Scotland, it's "Far-ker." Which really doesn't help matters any.

I'm naming my first-born daughter Martha, though.

Okay, your list of mispronunciations covers about everything I can think of. How do you pronounce it?!

And it's not uncommon for people to spell my last name "Nicks". Or to spell my screen name "TNS"...

As far as I have been able to tell, the "locals'" version. Far-ker, is the correct one.

*marthafarker, get it?*

Yes, I got the Martha joke. But I was wondering how you've pronounced it for the past however-many-years-you've-been-alive...

*lol* I was wondering that, too. I thought it was "Far-kwar" because I think I heard it on Beverly Hillbillies.

My Last name has been associated with Cat/Dog food one too many times.

My REAL name, however, is a different story.
