"I don't know what Frank is talking about in the above post."
Boris posted something in Starships, which Lee then (incorrectly) moved to the OL, and insulted him on top of that. When Boris complained, Lee deleted the post.

What is the relationship between Flare and TNO anyways? I got the impression that they were the "temporary" forums after the whole firebombing "Destroyer of the Forums" thing with *cough* Charles *un-cough* But last I heard, its still up and thriving, so what is the truth?

I can't remember what Boris posted, but I'm sure it wasn't appropriate to the Starships forum.
Boris was one of the hard-core people, the ones who only visit the starships and whatnot forums, never the "community" ones.
Lee's insult consisted of something like this.
"*moved to the Officer's forum* Honestly, I don't know why some of you refuse to post over there. Are you afraid you'll lose your 'air of geekness' or something"?
It was trully harsh. I'm surprised Boris was able to keep himself from suicide. Or going postal at a school.

It is still up and running. It was starting to grow, but has dropped a bit again. There are only a few other people besides Mods and Admins. I let my modship go there, haveing some personal problems of my own, and getting busier here at work. Christian made me a mod at Slipstreambbs, which is takeing off nicely, but not to the point where I have to be there all the time. If Andromeda is a hit, I think the place will really take off.

Okay, a brief summary of Everything, as I know it:
Lee wasn't "fired". Charles got the impression that Lee was being continuously and unusually mean to people whilst exercising his administrative powers. So, Charles suspended those powers and basically said Lee could have them back when he'd calmed down. Lee did rather the opposite of calming down and decided to leave completely, even going so far as to ask Daryus to delete his profile from the Forums. Daryus attempted to do so, causing quite a few other profiles to shit themselves, due to most of the Forum control panel functions' being fubar. Charles took away Daryus' administrative powers as well because of this, but gave them back eventually.
TNO is a separate board from Flare, but it was founded by people who were regular posters at Flare, so there's a fairly close relationship between the two, including a rather large overlap in members (at least, the last I knew). As mentioned, we've also used it as a safe haven when this place has crapped out on us.
Baloo is gone because he hasn't got time to hang around here anymore. Monty isn't around because he's been home from school and hasn't had 'net access. I suspect he'll be back in the next couple months at most.
And I want to know why I'm not on that list of people whose leaving would make this place less interesting... *L*

"Charles got the impression that Lee was being continuously and unusually mean to people"
Translation: Frank told Charles that Lee was being mean to people. As Kosh pointed out, saying "We have HTML and images in sigs disabled here. Don't try it. If you do, I'll shove the image up your ass, then ban you. Have a nice day. " isn't showing a huge amount of tollerance on CC's part, is it?
"even going so far as to ask Daryus to delete his profile from the Forums."
A fair enough thing to ask, since Charles hadn't been very nice to him.
"Daryus attempted to do so, causing quite a few other profiles to shit themselves, due to most of the Forum control panel functions' being fubar."
Which neither Daryus or Lee knew would happen.
"Charles took away Daryus' administrative powers as well because of this, but gave them back eventually."
Translation: Charles panicked, believing that firing both of his Admins would leave him vunerable and unloved. Charles also knew that Lee would disagree with him, and he hates that. Daryus on the other hand, is very easy going, and doesn't really care much about anything, so Charles kept him, knowing he'd be less hassle, and because he didn't argue with Frank as much as Lee. We don't want to loose our personal taxi service, do we Chuckie?
BTW, when was the last time the Moderators were ever asked about something? Or is it just CC, TSN and Frank now hanging around th back of the bike shed playing "rulers of the world"?
"Monty isn't around because he's been home from school and hasn't had 'net access."
Correction: Monty was at uni all through the summer, while he was doing his dissertation, and didn't post once. Monty isn't arround because he was sick of the backbiting, he didn't like how Lee was treated, and because the threads in the tech rooms had become extrememly anal, and because the threads round here had become extrememyl boring. And the threads in the flameboard had become "guns bad." "No, guns good. You idiot." "No, you idiot." "you like religion. You idiot. No, you idiot. You like Evolution. You idiot."
He isn't likely to come back. Orion still hovers, but hardly posts anymore. Neither do the Chrises, or MaGiC. Well done, you've managed to piss off an entire country by having a complete lack of a sense of humour.

Jesus H. Effing....
I removed Lee because he was being a PITA and constantly and continuously pissing people off. I removed Daryus because I thought he had killed the profiles on purpose. Daryus was brought back once it was made clear that he hadn't a clue what he was doing (and I've since taken steps to prevent it from ever, ever happening again).
That clears that up.
Oh, and the images in sigs bit - the "Have a nice day." is a fairly obvious indicator that it's light hearted. I'm KIDDING. Jesus.

This really isn't the place for this kind of discussion. One, since its about the Forums in general, it should belong in an area dedicated to such metatopics, no?
Two, everyone involved is a friend of mine, and I rather hate seeing them beat each other over the head.

Just a couple of things. What's a PITA? A small loaf of unleavened bread? Good for dipping in sauce? Harsh words there.

Right. Wheras saying "you afraid you'll loose nerd streetcred or something?" is obviously a very serious comment that was said with hatred and probably some form of vengence too.

I do believe PITA is an acronym for Pain-In-The-Ass. I don't think Pita would really be an insult to anyone, except of course if you were adressing a Kangaroo, who's pocket is much more spectacular than that of a simple piece of bread.

Didn't bother to ask Daryus what the heck he was doing, just fired him.

That was supposed to be a JOKE!

We need to work on that humor thing Charles. "Have a nice day" made it sound more like a smartarsed remark than a joke.

Nothing personal, and that goes for anyone I didn't mention. Most of the rest were people who came here long after I did. Zyial, Liam, Baloo, Sol and (edit)First of Two(/edit) are favorites.
"Ding ding" round two ends.

The big thing that set it all off was actually my announcement of both acts before getting everything straight... If I hadn't made that stupid mistake, things would have been radically different. It's one I'm not making again.

Well it works out like this. Charles funds this place, and runs it. We have our disagreements, vhemently, in private. There's no point in me getting my feathers ruffled, as this is after all, his site.
He, overreacted. But that's Charles. Point is, when I told him what happened, he was honest enough to admit the mistake and immiediately rectify the situation. Shit happens. As Liam said, I don't get ruffled.
So, since it happened so long ago, who gives a bollocks?
As for those who are ready to speak against Lee so fast, please note, you don't know him well enough to consider him heavy handed or otherwise. His job was an enforcer. Now, how heavy handed he was may have been a matter of semantics, and various people playing petty 'politics' but I doubt his removal as an admin here had a crushing effect on his life, or self esteem.
