Most people frown upon Microsoft, but their Internet Explorer browser has proven to be far superior to it's competition, and I just discovered that the 6 is available for download. It is installing as I speak, and I will be sure to tell everyone on how it performs, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has had some experiences with this browser.

I use Netscape more often nowadays, since IE takes the goddamn Windows with it when it crashes.

I have the installation file but I haven't gotten the browser yet, because a) it's still beta, b) it's fucking huge and c) I don't like the fact it's so integrated with MSN Messenger, as if everything else they've come out with hasn't been lately.

I'd read some reviews before installing it if I were you.

Oooh noooo, it won't work on Windows 95. How will we ever cope.

Next thing you'll say is that it doesn't work on Win 3.11. Or DOS. Or VHS!

I am rather dissapointed in this IE, it comes with a lot more bloat, and there is no radically different features, when I download that much I want it to be skinnable goddammit!

Bloated? You want it to be skinnable? Are we still talking about browsers?

I used to be a netscape user. Then I thought, if I use Explorer then more software will be compatible, like the explorer-window and the e-mail system.
Then I discovered IE's stupid bookmarking system, and switched back. I also didn't want to go to every netscape bookmark I had made, duplicate the adress and paste it in Explorer. Life is short enough.

I'm happy with Netscape now, the "forbidden" signs come very seldom and mostly just if I put too much pressure on the system, skipping back and forth between pages while starting up some other program.
I am able to live a normal life now, my grandchildren are happy to see me on my feet again and I will soon be able to ride my horsie again.
Thank you, Netscape! *fade in cheesy logo*

Yeah, NeoPlanet is skinnable, but unfortunately it's managed to trash my system everytime I've used it, so I never have again. Netscape starts far too slowly for me, and is impractical, very impractical.

I've got Netscape 4.5 and it loads just fine for me, not too slow. I've also got Netscape 6...now that's really slow. Too much junk added on that I don't need. And I believe 6 is skinnable. And then there's IE 4.x. It loads up fine, but it takes forever to load up a webpage.

The new OS coming out by Windows in a few months is skinnable. Of course, it also contains more bloatware.

I'm going with the latest navigator, 4.76. Works nicely. But some webpages are "optimized" for IE, so they take forever to load. It's that one-in-a-hundred webpage, where I copy the address and insert it in IE.
