I'm in the market for a cheap device to store all my phone numbers and such in. I have a datalink watch, but it's dying, and I need a replacement. I need something for less than $100. I came very close to buying a daVinci DV3 off eBay, but the general consensus turned out to be that they sucked. I may be stuck with a folding keyboard, though.
At the moment, I'm leaning towards a Franklin Rolodex Electronics RF-8130. Touchscreen, computer link, more than enough memory for my needs. Does anyone have any experience with such a device? Does anyone have any other recomendations for my purposes?

Damn. I thought this thread was going to be about Public Displays of Affection. Foiled again.

Me too, Siegfried. I was expecting something about people making out in public someplace.

I use a 3x5 note card. Low-tech, I know. But, hey, it works. And since I'm too lazy to figure out how my cell phone's memory/storage thingy works, it's the best solution out there.

Don't look at me. I bought a $180 Handspring Visor PDA for no good reason, other than that it was a cool toy. If you're looking to buy no more than what you need and for as little money as possible, I can't help. *L*

TSN, you can always put games in it and make it into a $180 Gameboy that you could use as a cell phone.

I keep all my phone numbers in my mobile phone. Tell me, do Americans actually use their cellphones' memory? For 7/8 years you saw Mulder and Scully manually dial each other's number on their phones. . .

You do know Jeff, that this is the equivalent of "I'm too lazy to figure out how to tune in my TV, so I manually tune it to different channels everytime I want to watch something."

Seriously, I'm practically the ONLY high-schooler in my church youth group that doesn't have a cell phone. I'm one of two that I know of over the age of sixteen that doesn't own a car. These people take in for granted that you get a car the DAY you turn sixteen.

Anyway, I've found something new. A Casio PV-400Plus. I should be able to get one for less than $50 on eBay. Whadda ya think?
I'd rather have a Franklin eBookMan, but they're considerably more expensive, even on eBay. I'd have to get a 901, too, 'cause I'd want a backlight.

Kwitcherbeefin, Omega. You're getting some cool devices that I would kill for.
Besides, a cellphone isn't that expensive these days, depending on which monthly plan you are subscribing to.
Car? Yes, your reasoning is understandable. This is given by the fact that I was never given access to either one of the two cars despite the fact that my younger brother has complete UNFETTERED access to them.
Siegfried, it isn't about Public Displays of Affection if Omega posts about PDAs.

You never know, Tahna Los. I thought that there was a chance (albeit a small chance) that a pretty young woman crossed Omega's path and that he wanted to know if it was all right to hug her.
Or, as I thought, Omega had given up his solitary existence and went into a strip club. There, he met a busty performance named Candy who offered herself to Omega. Omega, overcome by lustful passion jumped on the stage, and they fled for the hills for a romantic encounter.
Instead, I get a thread about computer toys. I was sorely disappointed.

I didn't get my car or license until 3 months before I was 18. Had to ride that damn twinkie to high school for 3 and a half years...
And I don't have a cell phone because I have no one to call and no one to call me.
