Um..I remember hearing a couple months ago that the Oldsmobile line was to be cashiered becasue of low consumer action. Seemed that no one was buying them because the cars have the word "old" in the name.

Oldsmobile was the worst selling brand for GM in the past few years. GM never really gave them much of anything to work with, all their cars in the past few years were rebadges of cars used elsewhere. They also had among the least amount of cars to offer, with 5 (A minivan, an SUV, 2 sedans, and a coupe/sedan), as compared to Chevrolet's 12 or so.
Buick is their 2nd worst selling brand and currently also selling just 5 vehicles (1 SUV and 4 sedans), but they will be gaining 2 more vehicles in the next few years (The Oldsmobile Bravada turned into the Buick Rainier, and the new Bucik Bengal roadster), so they probably wont be killed off anytime soon.
Oldsmobile used to be much better back in the 60s and 70s, when they sold the most popular car in America, the Cutlass (my mom even had one). Since then they just...died.
