Hotmail is the "cool" place to be. And so many people use MSN Messenger, with which people tend to not realize you don't need a Hotmail address to use.

Of course, even if Hotmail has 2.5 times as much space as Yahoo, Yahoo still wins just on the ground that three-quarters of your Hotmail space will fill up with spam on the first day.
