Actually cable lifts usually are rated for how much a single cable can hold and are made with up to eight cables for massive redundancy; plus, there are both magnetic and physical brakes in case of a cable snap.

Being stuck in an elevator with 5 scared cheerleaders, in need of consolation and manly bravado and consolation, sounds nice. Being stuck with 25 claustrophobic, panicking and fainting girls, oxygen at rock bottom...not the ideal fantasy I think.
Unless one is into s/m and autoerotic asphyxiation. Then perhaps being stuck in an elevator with 15 Anton Chigurhs and 15 rubber chickens could be even more nice. Brief but nice.
