Does anyone know about the woman who is suing McDonalds because they made her FAT?
Here's what I know: she's now 21, has been eating McDonalds since she was 3. Twice a day, every day. She's suing McDonalds because she claims they MISLED her into thinking that eating at McDonalds is actually a healthy thing. Ptui.

Well, since some other fat guy already did it, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again. Maybe everyone can be saved a lot of trouble, and she can have a heart attack and die before it goes to court.

Or she could end the way Terry Jones did in Monty Python's "Meaning of life"!!!

They may have even raised her daughter making her believe that as an experiment so, in a future, she could sue McDonald's and get part of the money. How's that for conspiracy theories?

People stupid enough to beleive that fast food is HEALTHY should be painlessly put down for the benefit of the species.

The only way anyone could believe that McDonald's food is healthy, is if they were indoctrinated into that by their parents. Her parents are probably whales too. And instead of saying, "Honey... it's our fault. We should've cookd better for you all along and made sure you excersized," they're feeding the situation by allowing her to believe it's someone else's fault.
If they fed it to her... she should be sueing her parents.

actually, one of the topics i find myself being concerned with in our culture is media responsibility. McDonalds especially, is very influential due to the attractiveness and expense of its advertising. They use a cartoon character cast to indoctrinate kids to want their product before the kids would ever be smart enough to question its quality. unlike joe camel, they arent selling anything illegal.
but then again, most high schools have health classes. her case falls apart around junior high when the government-run school system was probably informing her what a balanced diet was. i think that most of the youth in america probably have retarded parents anyway, so counting on them to explain it to her seems futile. but there are a lots of facets of society that should warn people against stupid behaviors, and she missed too many of them to be able to blame a lot of other people.

Absolutlely. Over here they're talking about making all advertising self-regulated; in other words the advertisers can do anything they want and only be faced with diciplinary action after the advertisement has been released. Even then it will have worked in their favour as the fuss over the ad will give them as much publicity as they could possibly want!!

What I love is how easily worked up people get despite no link, no evidence of any kind, just a random, "hey, is this true?" Good research skills, guys. At the same time there are all sorts of insane things going on the world, but hey, those are all much less important than unsupported rumors about fat people.

Well, this particular story may not be true, but an event nearly identical to it happened, so it's okay to complain about the concept.

When I was in med school, one of my patients was this enormously fat woman in her early 30s with 4 kids. She had a massive heart attack and nearly blew out her left ventricle. While she was in the hospital we sent her to the dietician because she didn't know that 30 years of deep-frying, salted pork, potato chips, and lard had helped destroy her heart. She claimed to have no idea of what foods were good or bad for her.
