India's first nuclear detonation was in 1974. That's MORE than 25 years.

Pakistan's however, first tested in 1998.. though It was suspected to have had the weapons for some time before that.

I did not know that, First. Where in the hell did they get the material to make it? The USSR? But I thought it was a democracy?

I'm not so sure on my modern, (1970-present), foreign history, but wasn't India for a long time considered one of the "fence-sitter" nations? Nonaligned?
