I doubt DeForrest's were. I don't get the impression that he embraced his typecasting as much as Doohan did.

Goodbye, Mr. Doohan. May the wind be at your back. "To absent friends..."

Sad, sad business. Makes me feel like a part of my childhood's died. It also makes me wonder how Shatner manages to remain so youthful in appearance and attitude.

He's doing adverts for Bran Flakes over here. It's quite impressive actually, considering he's well in his 70s by now (isn't he?)

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

William Shatner is the oldest of the remaining original series actors at age 74. Leonard Nimoy is next; he's only four days younger than Shatner. Nichelle Nichols is next at 72 with Walter Koenig and George Takei at 68 (Koenig's a few months older than Takei). This trivial information was brought to you by too much time on my hands.

Wow- they could all be my grandfather (yes, even Nichols- STV convinced me- she's a man).

If we include a few of the recurring characters, Grace Lee Whitney is the oldest of them all at 75. Majel Barrett Roddenberry is 73.

How old is Patrick Stewart? How heavy is Kirstie Alley? [Smile]

Patrick Stewart is younger than everyone still alive from the original series; Stewart just turned 65 a couple weeks ago. As of August 2004, Kirstie Alley weighed approximately 220 pounds.

Mabye she can use Robin Curtis as a sort of "Picture of Dorian Gray" for her weight....

Stewart looked to be about 200 years old in Nemesis but only in his 50's in the last X-Men movie.

I guess they really spackle that makeup into his wrinkles for the Professor X role.

Or they tried to age Stewart for Nemesis. One of the (failed) points of the movie was that Picard was supposed to be feeling his age and lamenting personal decisions that he made (not getting married, no kids, etc.). A mid-life crisis, I suppose, which was to partly explain his giddiness in the Argo Jeep. Somewhere along the line, though, all that stuff got cut.
