John Ruck, who played Harriman, went on to play Stewart in "Spin City". And I think his Ops officer can be seen in Voyager from time to time. ;-
Back at the ranch: I think redoing TOS is a travesty. The show was never about special effects (to those of us who weren't around in 1966, anyway) and I feel that having some self-proclaimed experts lord over what *they* think is good for the show is contemptable.
Gene Roddenberry made the show the way he wanted it to be made, and I seriously doubt that some UPN or CBS suit will have the best interests of his legacy in mind.Just casting aside the old footage because "cutting-edge SFX" demand it, it just isn't on.
Let them make the effort for the new series, and leave the original masters alone.
Thus concludes the gaseous rant.

The Enterprise did look pretty gorgeous in Trials and Tribble-ations didn't it?
I thought they missed the boat with that one. Put all the redone ship shots into The Trouble With Tribbles, and leave Miles, Julain, Odo etc in the background for the scences when they' d be there, but no more. Then package it with Tials and Tribble-ations. They could call it the 'Tribble-tastic box pack', yours for only 59.99, or $25.

OK, I don't know if redoing the TOS effects is such a great idea - BUT! I went to the sight - it appears to be working now, and I was awe inspired at what I saw, they have done a really good job. I have been there previously, before the hype and the pics were about10x as crappier. Now the big E looks like Greg Jeins E from Trials and Tribblations.
The Planet Killer is a bit different to what we're used to.
And a few of the shots (stills) look a little CGIish - but no where near what they used to be!
It actually is coming close to the look of a physical model, which is hard with the Enterprise-Nil, since it is a flat white colour.
