For those who care, there is a new Trek game out
have a look

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/838/838507p1.html

definately worth the 15 bucks i paid for it, and better then any out in the past few years for consoles ( barring Star Trek Legacy)

Thoughts?

Hm. Maybe I'll rent to get a feel. Not so happy about the play type (especially as a single player), but it IS much like NetTrek (which reminds me..I have Mactrek! Schmuck...). The imagery is faboo, though, & I'm keen on the ship designs, especially the return of the Winged Defender!

However...I get itchy about the idea of anything linking the terms "Star Trek" & "conquest."

Yeah, and personally I would like to see a Legacy type game for ps2. or psp. Even more, and I Know it is the firearms guru in me, but I would love to see another FPS like Elite force come out on either system (unlikely, now that ps3 is out, and there is no whay in hell iam getting that before 2010)

I still hold for a Bridge Commander Deuce. It's the only Trek game which felt like...well Star Trek. But I don't Bethesda making it. Those people are bastards.

My computer is so old and full of crap that I haven't been able to bother buying the pc games. I ve been stuck on the console games for ps2, most of which suck, with the exception of conquest. The last one bethesda churned out, ST Encounters, was ok, but had a voiceover by the "Shat", who sounded more interested on his cheeseburger than in the game.

PS3 is definitely worth it. I dunno about the games or anything, but when my brother got his I couldn't help noticing that it has a *web browser* and actually is open for development - you can install Linux on it if you know what you're doing. There's even a hard drive partitioner. And it'll play several media codecs XBox360 won't, so it's a nice thing to watch pirated - er, borrowed - TV shows from.

My psp can connect wirelessly to the interweb too, but has much cmaller memory than a ps3, so some sites wont load. It,s a nice feature, and nsome ps3 games are pretty damn good, its just the cost. A ps3 costs at least 500 dollars, and the games cost 60 bucks each. thats a little out of my budget range. i would love an xbox 360 purly to play ST Legacy, and maybe Call of Duty 4, but again, the price is too high for my tastes

GameFly is only $8.95/mo for one game at a time. But the PS3 is indeed quite pricey.

But if I play a game, I want to keep it, unless it REALLY sucks. I'd rather just buy it.
