I wouldn't. "Star Trek Enterprise" is what my mum has always called the show, because she is one of those people who ALWAYS GETS THE NAME OF THINGS WRONG. "Powderpuffy Girls" was bad enough, but "Stars Warring"?

As a "real Trek" tie-in, the title change would work splendidly. And as subtly as pretty much everything else in ENT.
But the uniform change? That thing isn't even a uniform, it's civilian clothing for the token alien outcast of the show! Hardly worthy of comparing with the TMP pajamas. (One wonders whether that IS what passes for pajams on Vulcan?)
C'mon, give us spoilers on the supposed Marine uniforms instead!

So, I guess that in fourth season T'Pol will dye her hair blond, and in fifth season she'll receive eye implant...

So B&B are looking to rename ENT because... contrary to their Grand Scheme of Things, the show has failed to attract any casual viewers? Just what was the reasoning behind omitting "Star Trek" from the title, again? Something about catering to the tastes of a broader, non-Trek audience?
This comes as a SHOCK, really.

I liked the more military look of the ENTERPRISE uniforms, but on the other tentacle, I can understand wanting to look more like the STAR TREK prequel that it's supposed to be. be funny if Archer gets a new chair... a big square one.

Huh? The Starfleet uniforms won't change. Just T'Pol's outfit.

quote:"Of the Star Trek movies, two of the most successful and popular, amongst both the general box office and the fans, were Star Trek IV — the one about the whales — and Star Trek: First Contact. They were both movies that dealt with impending destruction of the Earth, huge stakes that Enterprise and its crew had to go out and undo. So our thought was that, rather than just have a general mission of exploring space peacefully, [we'd] do a portion or maybe even an entire season where we had a very specific and a very immediate and a very dangerous situation."
I guess he missed the box office reports for Nemesis and ST:I. Of course I don't believe for a second that this is the real reason behind the shake-up, but they should at least try to make up a convincing lie. They're not doing themselves any favours in the credibility department with this kind of statement. I'm not one to bash just for the fun of it so I hesitate to say this, but that really does make him sound stupid.

As stupid as someone who thinks that Insurrection dealt with the impending destruction of Earth?
I think the reason for omitting "Star Trek" was twofold. One, to attempt to grab casual fans who would never watch "Star Trek"; and two, the fact that "Star Trek Enterprise" sounds really, really stupid.

Er, if anything her new outfit looks [iless[/i] like Seven's catsuit that it did before.

The TMP uniforms should never be used in the same sentence as "worthy". Unless a negative or extremely heavy sarcasm is used.

or ST:I referring to the film before ST:II and ST:III ? (but of course, that 'impending destruction of Earth' movie did OK at the box office.. it suffers from being a bring overpriced fiasco

quote:Braga and Berman still insist that the show is not showing its age, and that its creators are not to blame for slipping viewership.
So what is the reason for it going slightly luke-warm in popularity? "Don't know," says Braga. "Don't know."
Credibility? The two of them don't have any credibility. Are we to believe that Braga and Berman are really that clueless? Are they living in ivory towers? And what about their bosses at Paramount?
As for attracting the non-Star Trek fan/ casual viewer perhaps they should have originally named the show:
Captain Archer's Party Ship
But is there anyone on this planet who doesn't know that Enterprise is a Star Trek spin-off series? Is Star Trek even necessary in the title? Do you think it's going to make any difference in the continuity department with the Enterprise television series?
I can just see the ad copy now: New name, same awful taste!

Showing it's age? What, about 2 years? Well, that's absolutely ancient, I'm surprised it hasn't fossilised or something.

Can't you see? It's blue!
OK, but seriously, is this supposed to be T'pol civilian clothes? What happened to the square-shouldered classic Vulcan outfit, like those seen in First Contact? Or her Broken Bow costume? (which was actually pretty cool - she looked kinda like female Anakin Skywalker )
