Apparently, Paramount had a little leak. The name currently in consideration for Series V:
Star Trek: Enterprise
Couple this with likely info that this will be a pre-quel show to TOS (not Birth of the Federation like widely reported), and it may be that Kirk's Enterprise was the second Starfleet ship to hold the name.

You know, I don't think even the current TPTB are ignorant enough to disavow the current numerous references to "such-and-such starship to bear the name".
No, I'll take this as either fanboy internet ruminations, disinformation, or a combination of both.
Once I see the tile screen in fall, then I'll decide what the show's about.

I heard the name of the new series will not include the name 'Star Trek'. Trektoday reports that this is something they are seriously thinking about. Rumors are this is because the new series is very different compared to previous Star Trek series.

I heard that the new series is going to be set on board a purple hippopotamus wearing a nice basketweave dress.
Everything anyone's heard about anything so far is a rumor, and I hope that, by now, people can distinguish them from fact.

I think I'm with UM. I'll wait until I see the teaser of the pilot and/or the promos before I find out what the show's about. Any information before that is subject to disinformation.
