It's my Emergency Mindless Viewing Hologram--I engage it when it isn't preempted by hockey (Go Wings!) and if there isn't anything better on unless it's one of those damned Captain Proton episodes, which only remind me how silly Voyager is normally.

I like Voyager. So there! Why? Because it has a huge well of potential. Is that potential always reached? Obviously not.

Also, I am a gibbering fanboy who will shovel in load after load of Official Star Trek Non-Repeating Static Pattern. Mm-mmm.

Voyager has been Fantastic since season 3's "Before and After" OK, the number of episodes that are FANTASTIC could be improved... as someone here mentioned before there are great episodes - but they don't occur as much as say TNG Season 5.

No Series 5 please.

I haven't seen anything past "Dark Frontier" but I love Voyager, and I'm eagerly waiting for series 5 as well.

I like Voyager, too, but not as much as DS9. I like anything Star Trek in general, and Voyager is the only decent prime-time science fiction on network television (I admit that X-Files is decent, too, but I don't watch anything that scares me over a long period of time). As long as they put out new episodes, I'll watch it because I don't want to miss anything new that goes on in this universe.

I rarely watch Voyager. When I do watch the series, I feel that I am viewing dramatizations of science fiction pulp magazines of the '30's to the '50's. There were good stories to be found in these sources, however there was a greater majority of unbelievable and implausible stories. I want a mature science fiction, not a science fiction written for adolescents. Voyager is not mature science fiction.

I do not want to see a fifth series under the current production team. Another one, yes.

Just out of curiosity, what constitutes mature science fiction? Seriously, I wonder what everyone's definition is.

Sol: Everyone who wants a serious definition of "mature science fiction" should ask Mike Wong who believes that everything not complying with present day physics is crap, and Star Trek is the worst of all. Honestly, I think he lacks the basic understanding of sci-fi that it's supposed to be "funtastic". Otherwise, if I want real science, I can watch a scientific documentation, let's say about particle accelerators, which is interesting but lacks entertainment. The only demand I have is that the sci-fi complies with its self-imposed rules and restrictions, and this is mostly the case in Star Trek, also in Voyager.

Star Trek doesn't even have much of its own "science," though. Everything is explained by wacky particles, large-scale weapons are blips of light or blobs on a hull, etc.

It is my least favorite of the four series. I think it has improved over the last couple of years. Yes, I watch it. Stay up till 1am to see it. I record it for the people in the office who miss it. There are seven or eight trekies in my office, and someone asks if I taped it almost ever week.

I think a fifth series could be introduced during voyager, so they can have their seven seasons. I'm sure once the new rubs off, the two can align and go forward together, like when Voyager first started.

I really like the characters in voyager and would be very dissapointed if they were scrapped prematurely, like S:AaB.

I define mature as in there are
1.relationships between people that develop and grow
2. people that learn from their experiences and carry this knowledge forward into his or her future (there is no reset button)
3. technology is minimized in pursuit of character development
Further, a mature person sees for the long-term future as an immature person sees for the immediate present.

DS9 is the most mature of the four or five series of Star Trek. Voyager is less immature, partly I believe because the production departments are tired and doing minimal work (what do I need to do to get a paycheck?).

I don't really see any need to ask Mike Wong anything...

I have watched Voyager since it began and my opinion of it has improved from OK but hit&miss through good to an offical Monty-rating of "Sweet!"

I should perhaps also say I quite liked "gravity" and "Bliss", although they have certainly been bettered.
I also enjoyed elements of "The fight" (viz. Bob Picardo's diatribes against boxing et al.)

If the WWF keeps its grubby sweaty moronic hands away from it in future, I shall hopefully contiunue to hold voyager up as a damn fine show. (Well, as damn fine as you can get without roping in Patrick Stewart to spout Shakespeare with a glazed look - Class! )

Fifth series?
Depends entirely on setting. Innovative idea and I shall be the first to respond "COOL!" and endorse it.
A naff effort and I shall be ruthless with my hurling of rotten tomatoes.
