Fuckedy-fuck-fuck. On the other hand, this does mean I get to be the reigning last winner of the EAE Website award, so. . . oh, what am I saying?! Bastards! Surely there's gotta be another provider offering unlimited traffic?

Strato was actually the only provider I knew that had unlimited traffic without clauses. And now they are sending me a letter with the untimely termination of the contract listing a couple of possible TOS violations including porn or fascist propaganda of which none applies.
I have already received a couple of suggestions and offers. What could be the deal, Charles?

This stinks. On those occasions when I've needed Treknology stuff, Bernd's site was the place to go.

Yes, Bernd's site is definitive in the world of online Treknology research.. probably what did it in: everybody went there whenever they needed anything.
I know it is complicated, but perhaps some type of mirror setup is required.. the large amounts of traffic divided up into a few mirror (or partner) sites would be more manageable.. i quite understand if Bernd is too upset to think of it now, but it is a possibility for getting himself back up and running

You don't suppose that Berman and Bragga got mad at the NX criticism that ended up in Entertainment Weekly?

I'm seriously shocked, Bernd. Given that my site is hosted by Strato as well, this does not bode well for the future...
I do hope you find a new place for your excellent compilation of Star Trek information very soon.

This is all too sudden, but there's gotta be a way for something so useful to survive. The tech articles and the databases, including the corrected ship images, are the important part in my opinion. Although it's nice to have miscellaneous Fact Files images and the rest at hand, those can be easily found elsewhere (well, aside from the retouched images, but you know what I mean).
Good luck, Boris

We appreciate your concern. It is noted and stupid.

Bernd - a friend of mine has a server that I help admin... he gives me space and bandwidth on it in return, all of which is currently unused.
I would be very willing (and able) to host the site, free of charge, on that server, or even on another one that my boss owns.
Psst, are you still using that ezboard?

Bernd: I do understand your distaste of splitting up the site... but perhaps it would be a good idea to mirror most of the site and then split off the ships and articles sections as well. This might cut some things down... I just dunno....
