July 9, 2001--the day that started it all. I think a big celebration is in order.

Kyle: I remember the cover being just a painting, but I also remember the article featured shots of an Oberth docked at DS9, presumably the Yosemite we're talking about. Any scans you could make would be appreciated.

I can scan the cover from the Captain's Log, I don't have the magazine. But OK then, give me some minutes...

So, wait...is that a painting or a photograph of a model? I can't quite tell...

75/25 it's a painting. Look at the jetstreams coming out of the engines. I assumed it was a painting for years. But feel free to correct me. The grey image from the book doesn't look any better, so it's hard to tell if we don't find someone who still has that issue and can tell us.

Yosemite is an odd word when you look at it enough. Like something one of the castmembers of Welcome Back Kotter would say if they took a vacation to Tel Aviv.

Pics of the 2 foot Galaxy class/E-D
model:
http://lobotomy.pleh.net/~flareupload/uploads/302/2-foot_Ent-D.gif
http://lobotomy.pleh.net/~flareupload/uploads/302/2-foot_Ent-D-2.gif
http://lobotomy.pleh.net/~flareupload/uploads/302/2-foot_Ent-D-3.gif

And that may be a painting of the Yosemite, but it was based on this picture: http://lobotomy.pleh.net/~flareupload/uploads/302/grissomstumodel.jpg
So the actual model was indeed labeled as U.S.S. Yosemite NCC-19002

Where did you get that from? Any chance for a clearer pic?

Yes, I believe that is where I got the pic from. (It was a long time ago that I downloaded the pic) And, no, I don't know of a clearer version of the pic.
