Hey.. its summer and we are all discussing mundane issues since theres nothing going on in Trek.. i need to throw my hat into the forum.. i lost my list of the fandom Abbe (or Abb) class torpedo destroyers featured in Jackill's manuals.. i have found a few modeling sites while searching them, but specifically i need to know the name of the ship that was NCC-5309. and the rest too..

i though it was at Steve Pugh's database, but i cant find it on the page i thought it was on. does anyone have the blueprints or that site and can give me the registries?

damn.. i knew there was another ship with a two letter name besides the Ng!

thanks for the help, BTW.. those were exactly the list i was looking for...

i am going to write in a random reference to one of my stories where the NCC-867 rendezvouses with the NCC-5309.. just to see if anyone as pathetic as me gets the reference

I believe those registries and names are as Jackill published them.. it'd be nice if Dixon included sources for his ramblings, but what can you expect from a lunatic, right?

The Ng is one of DS9's runabouts in the Avatar era.. I have no idea what a Ng but trying to say it out loud is problematic at best.. since is a runabout we can safely assume its a river somewhere though, theoretically on Earth, possibly in a war torn area where vowels are in scarce supply.

Now what is a Xe? I'm inclined to disregard the concept of the U.S.S. Xe and call it the second name instead, but I have no idea what the hell source our favorite anti-Paramount hermit used to get it.

The Ng is most likely in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, or some other Southeast Asian nation. It's pronounced "ing." "Xe" sounds Chinese. Or maybe he just made it up. Those things DO happen, you know.

Well, whoop-de-do for TMBG. Let's give them all a medal.

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

"Ng" is actually a Chinese name. Typically in North America, it's pronounced "ing" as in "phasing". It's a fairly common last name for Chinese people - however due to the spelling Ngs are commonly mistaken for Vietnamese, where "Nguyen" is roughly equivalent to "Smith".

"Ng" was my Chinese grandmother's maiden name. She later changed her to Smith. "Ng" is usually pronounced "eng," I think.
