So I was browsing around Google a few days ago and came upon this:

clicky

clicky

They're supposed to be wreckage from BoBW. They seem to be nacelles from the 1/1400 Enterprise-D kit.

What kind of context are we talking about? An auction? A fan? One of the original modelers?

These pics were taken along with pics of the Talarian warship and observation craft, so I suppose they were just taken by some TNG personnel...maybe whoever was in charge of storing the models?

Can you tell if this warp nacelles are Galaxy class, Nebula class or something else (hey, it could be even the remainging of two (sic!) Freedom class ships!)?

NIce shots of the Talarain ships!
Too bad we could not see all that subtle paneling in the actual episode- back then all the ships had this crappy too-bright lighting which made them appear to be glowing- and a lot of detail was washed out as result.

Just look at the Ambassador- it's a featureless grey hull when seen on TV but the model has this complex blue pattern all over it.

Hmmm...despite years of rumors, it seems these models are NOT made from the old MPC Star destroyer model kits- I'm familliar with that particular inaccurate clusterfuck of a kit and trying to make the Talarian ships from that would be far more effort than just scratchbuilding them.

They seem to just be random wreckage, not from any specific ship. If one wanted to be anal-retentive, one could speculate that since they came from the Enterprise-D 1/1400 kit, that they were the remains of a Galaxy class ship.

The nacelles could be chunks of the USS Yamato.
They can not however be part of the Freedom, as a piece of nacelle pylon clearly indicated it's not part of the horrid "frying pan" class.

The website I found these pics from stated specifically that it was Wolf 359 wreckage. And I don't believe we saw nacelles flying away when the Yamato exploded, only the saucer.

Oh, and I totally agree with you about the Talarian ships. They look much better and more believable like this, rather than that silly mustard yellow color they were given in post.

I compared the scene from BoBW, Part II with the above given pictures of the warp nacelles. The one in the episode (right under the Constitution class saucer section) is cut off somewhat after the Bussard collector. Therefore I would say that at least in this scene a different model warp nacelle has been used.

And since the picutre quality is better now in HD (not much better, but better) I would even say that there is no other scene where this warp nacelles could have been used.

IIRC, that particular nacelle was custom-built by Greg Jein from the actual Enterprise-D mold, not built from model kits like these two were.

There's actually one object that might be a nacelle. It's long and thin, and can be seen during the scene right before the commercial break.
