1.) The turbolift display screens actually show six decks; of course, they also put all sorts of things in strange locations. While not neccessarily accurate in the details, it is interesting to note that apparently different members of the art department had different ideas of the ship's size.

2.) The MSD is scaled at 110 meters in length, while the Defiant is officially 171 meters long. Depending on which interpretation you believe, then four, five, and six decks are all believable. With a 171 meter Defiant, of course, the MSD's entire layout is thrown out of whack. But, we're not debating that particular issue at the moment... :-)
