I was watching the last episode of DS9 last week and i was wondering which runabouts were still operating. I know the rio grande was still there but how about the rubicon, shanandoah and the volga. Are there 3 runabouts at ds9 since the Gander was destroyed and we never saw a replacement.

The Rio Grande is still there. I think the Shenandoah was the ship Nog and Jake were on at the beginning of "Valiant". It was either abandoned, destroyed, or picked up later by another ship. I seriously doubt it could've fit on either the Defiant or the Valiant.
Me thinks the Rubicon and the Volga have both been radically disassembled too.
So we had the Rio Grande and the Gander (which was destroyed in which ep again?). What about the ship Dax, Obrien and Bashir were on in "One Little Ship"? Which runabout was that?
You can probably check any one of a dozen websites for a status report on the Runabouts.

I'm not so sure that weren't more than three runabouts assigned to DS9 by the end...

It's certainly possible. There are SIX runabout pads on the station after all. There are also storage hangers for at least two ships to use the same pad.

I know there are only three runabouts stationed at ds9 at any one time so by the end of the seventh season there was the rio grande, gander and one other. I was wondering which one? Is it one of the three runabouts below if so then what happened to the other two runabouts?

Actually nx - I think there might be six runabouts stationed there in the end... the E-D delivered 3 in Emissary and there were at least that many up to and including the Season 2 3 parter... I reckon along the way there - there would have been more than three assigned once DS9 got a little more important - oh also there were three up till Maquis part 2 as well - oh and of course The Jem'Hadar...
Though later on we here more of just runabout pads A, B and C... we here of D, E and F... ok maybe they are left vacant - but we saw a Runabout in "In the Pale Moonlight" when the Romabout landed - so why not dock the Romabout at one of the three unused pads... I think they were all full... with runabouts...
In the DS9 Tech manual there was mention of the six runabouts - and Either Ira Behr or Ron D. Moore mentioned 6 runabouts...

The Shenadoah was destroyed in "Valiant" according to the closed captioning.

Wasn't the Volga, Rio Grande, and the Gander the runabouts assigned to DS9 before "Penumbra?" And I did think that the Shenendoha(sp) exploded at the beginning of "Valiant" since either Nog or Jake talked about a core breach, or was it the computer?
The DS9 Tech Manual says that the runabouts are managed from six launch and maintenance bays.

Frank, would you prefer I called it Ganges? There's about as much proof for each of the three (except that one of the first two is actually a river). Although a second Ganges is mildly odd.

There is a runabout called Gander destroyed by the jemhadar in the last season. The Ganges was destroyed by a telani cruiser in the 2nd seaon. Was the Shanandoah abandoned?

Although it's Gander. It fits, and it works with the scheme, so Frank's wrong. Again.

Fabrux: It's the other war around, but you can't say "Ganda here" as fast as she did. The tongue has to move backwards a bit for the h sound, which is also similar to the position for the r sound.
