Another spot of tracing, for the upcoming Utopia Planitia Phase 3. . . 8)

And yes, I know the side view isn't much cop. . . but you should see what I had to work with! It's given me a new insight into the class - there's something rather unimaginative about it, as if it was Jaeger's first attempt. . . amd without a front view, it seems as though that most of the Bussards are blocked by the 'saucer.'

maybe it is like the sovereign. where from the side it looks like the saucer is blocking the bussards, but from the front you see that the saucer is curved downwards so that the front of the nacelles are visible.

What? The wrong one? Probably. But it looks nicer than the official Federation Hull font I used on the Steamrunner. . .

I'm sure that the Bussard collector is fully visible from the front.

Ugh! I HATE that image. . . curse you for reminding me of it! The prosecution in the case of "why haven't we seen more Norways?" rests.

Could someone tell me where the torpedo launchers are? I have been looking for hours but I can never spot the torpedo bays on any of the FC ships except the Akira, of course. There are schematics with big red lines pointing at the ships, but I like the good old fascioned tubes, like on the Constitution and the Intrepid.

No idea. You have to remember how little we've seen of this class. . . only ever in ST:FC. I'm guessing they're in the nose-well, from where phasers are also seen firing.

My guess as for the location of the weapons is that the phasers are in that little notch at the front of the saucer, and the deflector dish is in that grove immediatly behind that, and the torpedo launchers are also stuck in that groove.

Not to sound negative, but I'm not entirely sure the Norway has any weapons. Oh, I know, the "real" ship does, but I'll be damned if I can find any on the CGI model or the official diagrams.

In fact, all of the FC ships seem to be underarmed. The Steamrunner has one small phaser strip in front of the bridge. (With two others that MIGHT be phasers, but they don't look like it.) The Saber is slightly better, with two on the forward saucer. The Akira certainly doesn't seem to lack for torpedo launchers, but it has almost no aft coverage.

For that matter, the Sovereign is somewhat weak in aft coverage too.

Draw a head on top of that Norway front view. Then try to tell me it doesn't look like some really short fat lady in a dress... :-)

Sol: The Norway has one or more "phaser cannons" that aren't strips.
