Nor did you state that you'd read/seen/heard/observed it somewhere so I took your responses to be your opinion. I too would be curious as to the source, if nothing else, to get more little tidbits about set-design shortcuts. (and, yes, I do know about the cassette tape holders on the walls from TMP or TWOK or whatever)

No, the escape pods don't incoporate those doors. It's just the shipboard entrance to the pod bay.

I'd love to see what the monitors next to the pod entries say.
