Anybody else still watching this? I just caught up. It's really picking up for me. Some new life for the plot, some more tasty action scenes.
I was pleasantly surprised that Bennett didn't tase Claire when he hugged her - I was really expecting it.

Yes, it definitely has picked up. I thought they had rushed the whole Pinehurst/Arthur story myself.
The Ando/Hiro switch has provided some very good moments. It seems to me that they are paring down the number of Supes to re-focus on the main characters. After all, we haven't seen anything from Molly, Monica, West and a bunch of others that were introduced last season and I think the story has benefited from that.

Is this 3rd season or did I miss the boat on a new one?

I believe it is officially "Season 3, Part 2".

Yes, well, all the better to get the hell over with and onto something better (Seriously, I was getting tired of the Old Guys and their plots. I was glad when Angela basically told Nate to shove it up it his ass when he was hinting at asking for her help.)

While this season definitely isn't as good as the 1st, it does seem like TPTB have gone back to their roots. The previous 2 seasons were very much rushed and crammed with too many plot points, bad plot points I might add. This season seems to be going at a slow enough pace that I can digest what's going on. I agree with Andrew that the whole "government official who supports the rights of citizens until he/she sees an event that changes their mind" thing is so played out.

I seriously don't know anymore about this show. Season 1 was a cracker, but after that story, they've been struggling immensely.
It seems they just can't tell any other story than the discovery and coming-of-age of the first season, where people became aware they had powers, and we were genuinely excited to see this world turn upside down with all the superpowers.
Both season 2 and 3 are roughly "Someone sees the Bad Future -> Very convoluted plot occurs with people switching sides at least twice -> Stuff is all good again". In the end, everyone stays where they are as a character, with no clear alignments or divisions among them.
I'm not sold on S3 Part 2 yet. They've gotten rid of most of the timetravel stuff, but I'm not convinced it's significantly better/different yet.
I think what it lacking at the moment is a clear enemy. Can't we just have a classic "Good Guys vs Bad Guys" set up? Season 1 had the Company and the Linderman Group, but the other seasons have had less interesting baddies. I'd like to see them move to Future Hiro, Future Peter and Superhot Claire: 'superheroes' that kick ass, and have really come to terms with their abilities. Hiro and Ando's latest tricks are a step in that direction, although apparently played for comedy.
But, then again.. what do I know. They probably should've just stopped at 1 season, to be blunt.

I haven't seen anything since... um... 3.10, I think? Just kind of lost interest, I guess. Plus I'm kind of disgusted at some of the spoilers I've read and at the way they're making a habit out of stuffing women in refrigerators.

I agree about the first half of season 3. That's why I haven't been watching the second half, because the first half sucked so badly. But, I was bored and decided to watch them since there wasn't anything else to watch and I'm liking it much butter than S2 or the first half of S3 so far. Of *course* it doesn't compare to S1 though. And it is a bit predictable, but I guess not everything can be mindblowing. Maybe there are some surprises in store? Cross your fingers?

They need to think of some clever new powers too
I loved the 'minor characters' in season 1 too - like Charlie the girl with the memory powers and the hottie that was tracking Suresh. Had the power of persuasion.

Wasn't her name Eve or something? Sylar killed her, but I guess he didn't take her power, or he *definitely* would use it more often. Like, all the time.
