i just finished watching the whole series in japanese with sub-titles, and the movie (gotta love kazaa), and i have to say that Cowboy Bebop is the best anime' series i have ever seen (and this includes great ones like Evangelion, the Tenchi series and the like). about Spike's "death", i think that if someone took him to the hospital immediately that he could have survived. the syndicate still had people who were loyal to Spike (like Lin and Shin), and Spike had survived injuries just as bad as what he received at the hand's of Vicious in other episodes. of course we will never know as knowing would ruin the drama of the last scene .
