Picard: Mr. Crusher, what's our maximum speed this week?
Wesley: [checking manual] Uh, 9.4, sir.
Picard: Very good. Take us to Warp 9.8 then.
Wesley: Aye, sir. Warp 9.2 it is.

Yes, he had his sword.

I don't remember if it was shown in the movie or not, but he had one.

TSN, you haven't read the book? Yes he had Glamdring with him in Moria, it shone of white just like Frodo's Sting did blue, and it certainly got acquainted with the balrog.

Check the LOTR thread here in Gen Sci-Fi, I posted pictures of them. He's been cleaving orcs for a couple of million years, he certainly wouldn't let the others have to do all the work in Moria. :-)

Apparently Rob sees a different sign ... that says "you cannot pass" ... not, "you shall not pass."

*sigh*

I think he may have said "you shall not pass" in the movie. But, in the book, he does say "you cannot pass". Four times, actually.

And apparently, he does have his sword w/ him at that point. I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me before to reach a couple feet to my left and behind me to pick the book up off of my dresser and check it...

He has his sword, he doesn't. He says "You shall not pass." not "You cannot pass." Does it matter? The picture's supposed to be funny, and we all know who it is and what part it's supposed to represent.
