Did the new BSG have any capabilities other than being a glorified fighter carrier? For example, did it carry any weaponry heavier than anti-aircraft guns to shoot down Cylon fighters??
Not that we've seen, but that's all of three hours of film, little of which takes place once Galactica is actually armed.

Both, I guess. I vaguely remember that Lloyd Bridges episode. Was that the only time a BS fired a big weapon?

The new BSG looked okay, for a ship, but the BSGOS ship was better. The FTL effect was excellent.
I still need to watch Movie #3, which I am going to do right now.

I don't remember ever seeing the old series more than vaguely and I've not seen the new one. Anyone care to post a before and after shot of the old girl?
