Again, must be a Brit thing, because I see that as completely useless. Yes, I do eat toast, but I never toast more than two slices of bread at a time, and it usually goes straight from the toaster to my hand. Why not just stack the toast on a small plate? The toast would stay warm longer.

I agree, they are pointless. The toast goes cold and dry. Only time our one gets used is when we have people to visit, and then the toast just gets used to mop up egg, beans, whatever. But stacking on a plate? You get a steam/condensation/water vapourey buildup that makes the toast soggy, and that's even worse.
