But Walter's must have already been through the gate. He was offworld with Hammond during the season 7 opener when they attatcked Anubis...

I was actually disappointed in the episode. A few good chuckles and that's about it. Might as well have been a gag reel or outakes episode.

I want Walter to start channelling Radar again...

Honestly, my favorite moment from the night had to be during the behind the scenes hour. The practical joke they played on RDA when he and Carter were stuck in Antarctica was priceless! Carter: "You spent seven years on MacGyver and you can't figure this one out?! We..We've got belt buckles, shoe laces, and a piece of gum. Build a nuclear reactor for crying out loud! You used to be MacGyver, McGadget, McGimmic! Now you're Mr. McUseless! Dear god! I'm stuck on a glacier with MacGyver!"

I liked it. I had chuckles all over - I mean no wiping the tears from my eyes laughter - except for maybe Thor/Rygel! [Smile] Oh and Thor as the wedding celebrant.

Oh the puppets were good...

Yes, who was the scotty guy supposed to be? Not from one of those internet Trek revivals is he?? I'm only thinking that because they seem to have a set like the original series engineering room.

No live General Hammond and no Janet or even Dr. Lam.

I can't work out which of those DeLuise boys is who... the guy at the end - that was Peter? The one who directs a lot? HE ends up being 'the new guy' for the series? But don't we also seem him as a director back in 'Wormhole X-treme'.

The BEST part of the whole episode was the cut to Teal'c when a 'younger' version was suggested... the 'No, no, no' and then 'just one of the most X-treme (sorry) Teal'c death stares.

Andrew

P.S. Was that Browder TRYING to do an Australian accent?

Typing somthing in the Point of Origin thread about stargates reminded me of an injoke I found funny.

The fact that they were saying the gate should spin... reading wikipedia about stargates the otherday - the Movie gate of course didn't spin and nothing lit up.

They joke about the Furlings - but I think they are going to reveal them still. It's all a furfy - a funny one, though.

ALTHOUGH - thinking about it Carter says "It didn't happen like that" - does that mean that they have already met the Furlings. Well it has to be since we last saw their technology in season 6.

and if they DID meet the Furlings, did they actually end up getting nuked? "It didn't happen like that" sounds kinda like they met the Furlings, and then the Furlings met their fate.

I thought she said "Well, THAT never happened!"

Ayway, I know this episode shouldn't be taken seriously, but from the end of the episode (set in 2016), we *might* infer that the gate is still secret, and it's business as usual on Earth. But I wouldn't take it as a solid point.

Or that the Earth didn't get doinked by the Ori...or the Wraith...or anyone else for that matter. So YAY! The Earth is safe for at least 10 more years.

Scotty's identity, from Wikipedia:

"The engine room, similar in design to that of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek: The Original Series, is manned by a Scottish engineer (played by Brad Wright, co-creator and producer of Stargate SG-1)."

His name wasn't across the screen in white letters, that is why we didn't recognize him.

The production crew of the show often make cameos of themselves for the hell of it. Martin Wood, the director of the episode, shows up as the director of Wormhole X-Treme's 200th episode. Peter Deluise shows up as some sort of background extra in every episode he's directed, but in this one he plays the colourful-languaged replacement for Colonel Danning, who was ironically played by his real-life brother. It is unknown however whether the character he played was supposed to be the same person as the director of the Wormhole X-Treme pilot episode, whom he also played.

Note also that WXT team was using the "real" Stargate field prop in the production, and not the fake-looking one from the last WXT episode. So perhaps the SGC has gone public after all, and WXT is now an historical drama. [Wink]
