Not to mention that we saw a Quarren in the background of the Ginosa Command Center. Aren't those the same guys who live on the Mon Calamari world? You know, the one supposedly not discovered until AFTER the Empire is formed?
Lucas is re-writing EU. He can do that. As far as Star Wars goes, he is God.
UM -- saw the film again today. The armor is very similar to Stormtrooper armor, but there are differences -- the back plating, the stomach, some of the leg details. They're closely related, but far from exact.
It's not like I mispelled "Tatooine" or "Naboo" or even "Coruscant" ... I mispelled the name of a new world in a new movie. Cut some slack for those who DIDN'T read the book and spoil the movie for themselves.

I'd also like to mention that the ten-years-dead Jedi who ordered the clones is "Sifo-Dyas", not "Sifa-Dyas" as I was spelling it before. I didn't have the book handy when I needed to write it, but I had the chance to check it last night.

BTW: Splinter of the Mind's Eye has Luke actively trying to make time with Leia. Good thing it's part of that funky EU, eh? Because there's just not enough incest in Star Wars as it is.

The point is that Foster wrote the book without any notion that the two were related, and thus there's no way for the reader to escape the romantic overtones.
