Well, its just turned 12 midnight here in Brisbane, Queensland - and thus its 2001... a new year, a new Millennium! Wow. Again - I didn't go out. After a horror NYE in 1996/1997 - I've been left with a bad taste... or I could be just a loner.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
HAPPY NEW MILLENNIUM!

11 1/2 hours to go. I'll probably dig out 2001: A Space Odyssey and start watching it around 9pm. Give me enough time to watch it and watch the New Years

I know where that is from. When Dr. Heywood Flyod enters the orbiting space station (that big two-ringed thing) he is asked to choose a language when he goes through customs. Although, I believe there are actually 6 languages listed,: English, French, Russian, Dutch, German, and Spanish. But I'm not sure on what the 6 are.

New Year's is my religious holiday. Although I'd prefer to be spending it with Rykja, I'm with her in spirit if not in form.
We have a gifting bash tonight. Everyone else associated with the house has taken up my ideas. Smart people.
Y'all do know, of course, that "2001" is theatrically rereleased today, digitally remastered & THXed.
Only two worthwhile marathons for the changeover this year: 42 hours of "Twilight Zone" on SciFi & 24 hours of "Iron Chef" on Food Netwrok. Damn Cartoon Network for running a "Dragonball Z" marathon; I never COULD get into that show. They couldn't do a "Tenchi" one instead?

Our house is going to be quiet this year. Every year we've had a big New Years party. Our Christmas was the biggest we've had in years, even tho everyone was nervous and it seemed rushed. I myself am going over with my aunt to a New Years Party... my father is going to take it easy and celebrate it with his best friend and his wife.
Have fun everyone, and Happy New Millenium
