Simon has a thing against anyone who likes a group with a record contract. He thinks they're "mainstream" ... or, in other words, he looks down on people who like what other people like. He's an elitist snob, believe it or not.

It's true. If they've got a fanbase of more than 26 people, then they're obviously not trying hard enough.
Simon is so bad, that occasionally he listens to bands that haven't even been formed yet.
