Today I just learned that my girlfriend who I have been dating for nearly a year, has just told me that my prom is on the same day as her graduation day. Now her graduation is from 6 to 10. My prom is 8 to 12. Given she could have told me, but now its a little too late too look for another date. She could come for a about an hour or two then go to the Post-Prom party.

However I believe there is a rule that no one can be allowed in after 8.pm. If she does not go to her graduation, she does not graduate with her class (naturally).

Boy my life sucks.

What, they can't send her diploma in the mail? Silly.

Talk to the class advisor.. perhaps they can make an exception if you tell them you (or she) or whoever will be arriving late ahead of time.

Gotta hate that life. Ouch. My father goes in for surgery for his benign tumerous growth inside his abdomen on Thursday.

But that prom thing? That sucks.

That was my other father. Actually, that was just to MAKE YOU FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT DRINKING AND DRIVING. And this one is TO MAKE MEN FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT SILLY PRIORITIES. My father always told me life lessons, and he's helping out now, by dying when a moral is needed.

Apparently you cannot be depressed about something if there is something more depressing, Matrix. I think Captain Mike's advise is the best. Most people will be reasonable if there is a good explaination.

The solution is obvious. Go to the graduation, then find some post-graduation party and get seriously trashed. You won't even be thinking about the prom. [Smile]

I love hearing technical arguments about Star Trek, especially when said technical arguments involve the fact that design linerage is more important that writing good plots!

I love everyone!

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

at my high school, if you didn't go to graduation you just picked up your diploma at the main office. proms are over rated anyway. my girlfriend and i went to my school's prom and to her school's prom, and they were basically just a bunch of asshats going crazy while the more intelligent people tried not to be killed by an errant bump and grind. the only thing good i got out of my prom was a wannabe beer stein with my school's name on it (kinda ironic, considering they were trying to crack down on alcohol). i like drinking from a pilsner anyway (or if it is german beer from a REAL beer stein), so even that mug was lame.

I don't suppose this would be a good time to suggest that you ditch the prom in favor of your girlfriend's graduation?

Matrix, don't worry, its perfectly natural to want to eat out.

Most men just want to do it in the privacy of their own homes.

I like to eat out as well, in fact, one time she dragged me down behind a tree during a forest walk, after she had finished taking photos of a treestump that looked like a lion.
