Note: this is not a question. I thought that the nanites were an indigenous form of life on the planet - mechanical yes, but artificial? Well, maybe. I define "artificial" as something made for a specific purpose, which IIRC (probably not!) the Nanites weren't. They were just there on the planet, playing holy hell with the terraformers.
Re Omega: he's probably still prowling around, pissed off at 'The Raid!!' topic and the hiding he received over at the Flameboard - not that he lost, or anything!!
Q: Was the SSA as pissed off with something as *I* presume Omega was with that Topic?

Gas: Fabrux has a point. If the Naanites was the SSA (which it isn't), I would have said that the SSA was artificial. Like Data, they are Artificial Lifeforms with Artificial Intelligence.
No, the SSA was not pissed off......

Q: Could *it* kill you if it wanted to? Q: Who would win if Worf went up against it with a batt'leth-shapde barstool?

Gaseous: I think you're thinking of the microbrains. Nanites are tiny robots. The ones in question were ones that Wesley Crusher was experimenting with, but they got loose and evolved into sentient tiny robots.

'Home Soil': tiny organic organisms, indigenous to the planet, protecting their home.
Wesley's nanite experiment ep: the nanites achieve sentience and are given their own planet.
I get it now - sorry about the mix-up.
