Bet they wouldn't let her do the add in uniform for a Republican! And since Paramount owns the rights to the uniform, she had to have their permission.
I was over at the BBS. Someone says that the add was shot on the Voyager Bridge set.

Yeah, yeah, grr, grr! Socialists, all of them! Luckily, we still have the guillotine.
What's that? WHAT?! Oh...ok...no...yes, yes, I understand that. But...no. Ok. Fine.
I've been informed that it is somehow "improper" or "frowned upon" to slice the heads off your political enemies in the town square, and then to use computer imagery to show the disembodied head on the nightly news, chatting with the anchor and denouncing their former beliefs. So instead I will say that this smacks me as being distasteful, though not necessarily world ending.
Actually, it raises an interesting point that I shall need more time to mull over.

Sheesh, get a grip! methinks the lefties doth protest too much!
All I was doing was making the quite obvious point that Hollywood and the Media, in general (but not in its entirety), are far more inclined to support 'Democratic' (the party, I mean, not necessarily the system of government) concepts than not, and gave one of the more blatantly obvious examples. None of what I said is either false or unverifiable, so where is the offense?
Heck, even "Touched By an Angel" takes a 'liberal' view of Christianity Mythos... when was the last time anybody got smote on that show? (For a 'Conservative' take on Angels, try 'The Prophecy' with Christopher Walken. Now THAT'S an Old Testament Angel!)
Now, to me, "Star Trek" has always been 'liberal,' in the good senses of the word, and I've never had a problem with that. In general, I've agreed with all the political statements Star Trek has made, especially about war, sexuality, and race since its inception (or rather, since I first watched it in re-runs). So I'm not saying that it's (or Hollywood's) liberalism is a BAD thing. Quite the contrary.
But I do object, and I think rightly, to using the show to promote a specific candidate's specific agenda, no matter if you ARE his sister or cousin or whatever. And to the unfair characterization that I mentioned previously.

Well, speaking of the Trek view on race, it's actually quite disturbing. Just today, I was watching the Voyager pilot, and Tuvok tells Neelix, "Starfleet is made up of many cultures...I, [for example] am Vulcan."
