well to me i hear: male voice: 96 dead...[sound fx]..22 wounded on the Lexington female voice: Commander Luxby of the Madsen Female voice [over Luxby]: Help me
The Madsen i presume is a contraction of Madison, IMHO i hear a 'D' sound before the 'sen/son' (sp?)

For the last time, Close Captioning is crap! In another thread someone's just pointed out that Riker is spelt Ryker. I saw a version of Sam Peckinpah's Cross of Iron with French subtitles. At one point someone yells "TANKS!" and the caption said "Merci!"

It has its flaws, but a lot of the time its based off the script, so it can be helpful in situations like this, even though on occasion it can also muddle things up.
Madison and Lexington it is.

There's a difference between the CC of the TV and the subtitles of the DVD. I personally think the latter is more reliable. Especially since the subtitles replaced the old caption Lexicon to Lexington

In one DS9 episode (I think it may have been "Sanctuary"), people were disembarking a ship and walking onto the station, looking around, and so on. The closed captioning said things like "Woah, dude!" and "Groovy!".

I saw that too. Probably explains why the UT had so much trouble with the Skreeans, if thats what they were saying.
