Boris: What do your scripts claim that Dax said, then? 'Cause I distinctly remember that "Defiant-class ship" line, too.

There was a line about the Valiant being "Defiant class" in the episode Valiant. I remember because Ron Moore told his AOL talkback that he made a point of sticking it in there to silence the Valiant-class online hordes for once and for all.

I've been searching the archives on a few Star Trek sites that have a topic on "The Valiant." So far, I can't find anything about mentioning "Defiant-class" other than Ron Moore in the AOL Talkback archives on TrekWeb stating that he was intentionally putting "Defiant-class" in the script to settle the debate. However...
I have a vague recollection of there being some disappointment because the line, for whatever reason, was cut from the final version. I remember this, but I can't seem to find anything about that here or elsewhere. I really hope I'm not going crazy just days before my birthday. They don't let you have cake in the asylums.

Tell me about. The other day, I was actually convinced that I was a member of the Green Party instead of the respectable Republican that I am. I think. The voices are telling me that it's time for bed now.

Oops, the line *is* there. Sorry. My old search program (now past the shareware limits ) doesn't recognize the hyphen, so I was used to typing "Defiant class". It seems Windows Search has different rules.

AndrewR: I honestly don't think Defiant-class was mentioned in "Valiant". Do you remember which part it was in? I just don't feel like watching the entire episode to check.

Dax: I don't wanna have to watch it again - at the moment - but I think it was when the Valiant came to the aid of Nog and Jake.
But I remember the hoopla over there FINALLY being the Defiant Class reference that would end the V/D debate. Someone on here has all the TNG and DS9 scripts on CD-ROM.
