This and this are images from SoA and WYLB, respectively. The second scene is a modified version of the first. Notice the Romulan ships and the registry in the lower right.

Miranda with 18xx(x)? Definitely a new ship, since the NCC-1837 and NCC-1864 are destroyed, and the NCC-1867 long decommissioned. No weird reactivation theories, please.

*looks at the Defiant pic* Now, just how the hell did they manage that?! Oy... *rolls eyes*
Anyway, is there, by any chance, a shot where the Miranda registry is actually legible? No? Didn't think so...

Well at least this Defiant had a NCC marking unlike the horrible NX during "What You Leave Behind." I guess the final episode was named for the fact the VFX guys kept on leaving things behind like the original registry of the Defiant into the new one...
I wouldn't be surprised if those lazy, good for nothing idiots labeled all the Galaxy Classes with NCC-1701-D, all the Excelsior Classes with NX/NCC-2000, and so forth.

Does it really matter if in one episode one registry is wrong a total of two times?

Well I'm a perfectionist, unfortunately. It's one of the lovely traits I either picked up when I was growing up or something that my mother passed on through genetics (sex).
