Perhaps we can give them the benefit of a doubt and assume they don't put in windows as that texturing takes much work...?

Are those lighted circles on the Defiant's nose windows? If they're not, then what are they meant to be? There appears to be similar "windows" in the ship's shell bottom, of course.

That's what I've been wondering too. Or it might be hull lighting. The only person who would know is Tony Meininger who built the miniature.
