Pretty close...

Wow.
I wish I was that good with vector art. Oddly enough, I'm currently trying to blueprint the same design for a fan group I'm involved with, but I'm pretty useless with Paint Shop Pro's vectors and can't afford Illustrator. Took a look at the weblink and the design used there is similar to what I had in mind, with minor differences... amazing how great minds think alike, eh? The one thing I really love is the pseudo-3D look you've achieved with shading and gradients. VERY impressive!

It's a beautiful drawing and all, but the one thing about the design that has always irked me is the engineering pod slung underneath. It just sticks out like a sore thumb.

Practice, learn and repeat.

The hard part is spending 2 months drawing an acurate vector of the aztec pattern, after that anything can seam easy.

Unless you want to start paying me for my time I'll work as slow or as fast as I feel like working.

Awesome work, Reverend. I can not wait to see your final product. I have always loved your Antares Class Starship. I have been following your design trends in the vessel for some time. Keep up the great work.
Monkey, why don't you just back off. Reverend can take as long as he wants. Why don't you try your hand at designing the Constitution?

Really, really love the Excelsior-style yet not kitbashed look. Perhaps something similar could be done to the Raging Queen and the unnamed three-naceller...
So what's the deal with the TOS version impulse engines? Are they on the pylons, like in the movie era version? Or on the saucer aft rim? Or below the shuttlebay? If not the latter, what is the doorlike thing below the bay? I missed all the discussion on the design back when it was finalized...

Looks to me like you got it right second guess - they appear to be on the aft saucer rim.

Hmm, I don't think a 10 foot barge pole would be long enough...

You were right the second time, but their elevation is a little awkward because of where the pylons are. This is half the reason why I moved them on the refit...the other half of the reason was that the ship looked horrible with two impulse deflector crystals on the saucer.
