There was a very good rendition of this (or a very similar) design on scifi-meshes.com... I can't find it right now, but it shared the "rotated saucer" motif with Sovereign details possibly added in. There was this GREAT picture to the ship in spacedock, and another of her fleeing a Borg cube...

Are you by chance refuring to Dak Phoenix's Allegiance class?

Boh - yes, that's the one! Fantastic ship.

As for the torpedo - isn't it phallic enough? I once had this idea of photoshopping a pic with Data carrying a casing in front of him lengthwise and asking female crew where he should put his big torpedo...

Getting back to the original topic here...

Although it's pointless to start coming up with designs before the description of the ship comes out, I'd like to say that although the designs shown so far here are good, I think something more original should be thought of. So far, all we have are Galaxy & Sovereign type ships with somewhat different configurations. Here's a thought: Don't use design elements from either. Make something new. The last newest 24th century design we've seen in Trek was the Nova class, and that was like six years ago. Be creative.

Or is the prize to be Pocket-Book's sweat-shop worker/just getting your design used?

Ha!!!

Seems like the same design idea Dak Phoenix used for his U.S.S. Allegiance:

Wow that is a FANTASTIC ship - and fantastic artwork. Is that all just CGI? The second pic looks like it has paint-elements in it!

I love it. Now THAT should have been the E-E - not too far-a departure from the E-D/Galaxy.

Oh the link for the third one - the movie doesn't work: /dphoenix/bitter_homecoming.mov

Yup, that's the one I was talking about earlier. It's sort of a halfway point between the GCS and Sovvie, trending towards the former. One of my favorite fan designs EVAR.

Isn't it funny how a new guy comes along and tries to join in the conversation only to repeat what's already been said. You would think he would read the whole thread first and view relevent links before saying something. And the guy's been registered for a few months already and it's only his first or second post.
