(Distant Horizon being the new collaborative sci-fi project.)
Firstly, there's a new DH page, although it's still under contruction. There's plenty of useful info there already, however, especially the introduction.
We're still trying to decide what logo to use. There's the one up there now, and then these two, which Mucus designed: Logo 2 Logo 3
Krenim is also working on one more. We're trying to decide which one is best...we can use more than one (randomly selected when people visit the page). BTW, if anyone wants to design another logo, please do. We're using green as the main color for now, as you can see.
Also, Krenim's RPG demo should be done in a few days. It'll be posted on the DH site at that time for download.

Wow this DH project is pretty cool , Are you interested in any ship designs ? I could draw some up if you like , but i really dont understand how FTL travel is achived in DH , is it MARA Anitmatter/Matter Reaction ? or some other form ?
I am most interested on "The terminal" i could work on some Trade ships or Patrol Vessels if you like ?

Ship designs would be great! You can do something completely new, or maybe design some Astamir ships (see the chart on that page for some examples). As for FTL travel, the standard energy source is good ol' hydrogren, via fusion, although it's stored in a very condensed state and reacted fast, such that lots of energy can be produced in a somewhat safer manner than if antimatter were used. (AM is still used in large-scale weapons and so on.) As for the FTL drives themself, we're not sure what principles they operate on just yet, but they require specialised external sensor devices (like the "fins" or "wings" on the sides of the Astamir ships, above).
As for The Terminal, Krenim will be happy to hear that you like it. I'll let him know you're interested. BTW, his RPG focuses on The Terminal.

Yes, the RPG (entitled Distant Horizon: Terminal Origins) demo will be out very very soon. I can't say exactly when, though.
I was intending to do Terminal ships myself, after I finish the demo. However, this area of space is teeming with ships and stations, so Frank would be very happy if you would contribute in some way. There are a lot of places that have been named already, but there's a huge area of unnamed space to the "right" of the block of space The Terminal's in, so if you want to name the planet/station yourself, it could go there. Zybrogus X (alluded to, but not seen, in the RPG) needs a neighbor.

I have finished making the demo. After it is playtested by a few people for grammar, spelling, to make sure everything is working correctly, etc., it will be released.

I have a little something that I've been fiddling around with - and its more of a 'logo'. I hope that you can hold out just a little longer - I'll scan it in and then if you like it I'll zazz it up in Adobe...
I haven't really been following this Dark Horizons project - I think the threads just got too long - or something - but I jump at the chance for a bit of art work
I basically have the understanding that its a few of us here that have collaborated to create a sci-fi universe reminiscent of Trek, B5 or Star Wars?
What is the RPG? is it just a way to immerse yourself into it on the net?
Is it a commercial project? I thought it was just for fun?
Andrew full o' the questions
Hang on - i'll put up my rough sketches soon.

By "logo" we mean something to put on top of the page. However, an actual logo to represent the project would be great...take as long as you need.
Actually, it's "Distant Horizon"..."Dark Horizon" is an unrelated Trek story by Fabrux, IIRC.
Correct...we want a sci-fi universe that people can use more or less freely, unlike Trek, SW, B5, etc., which people can only create non-canon material for. There are some differences internal to the DH universe, though...read the intro for more info.
The RPG is a standard video game-style one (like Dragon Warrior, etc.) set in the general area around The Terminal (and in it).
This is just for fun, but if a major studio offered us a movie deal or something...

The reason being, may I remind you, school. (And that I could've been done long before either of you had I received the demo on the weekend. )
