Don S. Davis apparently said at Dragon*Con that there would be three movies, most likely TV movies, and that the existing cast had signed on. Also, apparently at least some of the SG-1 cast (I'm guessing Carter and Jackson, and perhaps OCCASIONALLY Teal'c) would be moving to Atlantis as recurring characters next year.

It survives!

Carter and Meredith on the same base....a love story just waiting to happen.

Seriously though, the dynamics will be crappy. Adding Carter is redundant as Atlantis already has a resident brainiac in McKay. Jackson's character always worked best as a foil/counterbalance to O'neall so there's no real place for him other than studying up on Ancient. The big "A" already has the resident "BAD DUDE, BAD DUDE" in Ronon so there's no real point in Teal'c being there to cock his eyebrow and give the ubiquitous "Indeed". And Vala? Her character has had a hard enough time finding a niche in SG1.

I don't want them to turn this into a fan-boy-lovefest.

No shit, but it is a big city- nothing says they have to all be in every episode.
A big city that they seem to have given up on exploring...but I digress.

Yes, they're about halfway done - it's been going faster now thanks to the holochamber guide and the ZPM, but now that the latter is expended they'll have to dial it back again.
