I thought it was more a play on what many insurgents have done in Iraq and Mousad in Lebanon... keeping weapons inside mosques and holy places. One man's resistance is anothers terrorism, eh?

I think BSG indulges in allegory at it's peril. There's more than enough dramatic potential in the story itself without referencing contemporary tragedies and seeking to comment on them.
However, I suspect you're quite right. Given the timescales involved, the writers probably are taking inspiration from the Middle East.

The benefit of hiding the weapons in the temple on New Caprica, though, is that there's no one to piss off by hiding there. If the Cylons do choose to raid the temple, they'll instead fuel the resistance by violating the sacred ground. I think that, although some people might blame the Resistance for violating it in the first place, they'd see the Cylon raid as the bigger violation. Somehow, despite all that's going on, I doubt that many people will actively collaborate with the Cylons here.
But I guess we'll find out in a few weeks, huh?

We've known Tyrol's name for over a year, now. I know that it was mentioned in one of the early S2 podcasts, at the very least. (I remember Ron Moore commenting on Galactica-Boomer's "last" words, calling Tyrol "Chief" instead of "Galen.") But I'm pretty sure it was mentioned a couple of times in the series.
As far as the webisodes go, I'd like to know who's actually surprised there ended up being an incident at the temple? Anyone think that Duck is NOT going to join the Resistance now?

OMG, Lurker was so totally right! Anyways, I watched all ten episodes that exist so far and my conclusion is: that I really like the broadcast TV series. And surprisingly it's not just to do with how sexy the humano-cylons are.
My question becomes whether these "webisodes" (cringe) are the much-vaunted spin-off of the regular show and what people think about that. My reactions would be A) disappointed and B) Oh, no, wait it's OK, I'm not that into the idea of BSG: family drama so if it's over already then all is right with the world (and yes please start with the hot, muted-volume epic space-battles and thinly-veiled political methaphor again).
