I just saw a preview for the new Knight Rider series (I guess it got picked up). KITT's sitting in a parking lot and parts start moving and flipping, an engine part comes up through the hood... then cut to the inside "Yah... I look good."
As always, I will withhold judgement, but the color-changing skin was stretching it.
I couldn't tell if they've got the same guy playing Tracer or if it was still Kilmer doing KITT's voice. I'll have to look it up.

Well, they re-animated him for a few minutes at the end of the pilot movie...
Another trailed shows that KITT can morph into basically ANY GM/Ford vehicle, as it's seen changing into a pickup truck and back. The kicker is, Mike Knight and what's-her-face jump into the pickup's bed, and KITT transforms AROUND them, with them ending up in the front seats at the end!

Ugh, I just saw it. Not good. Looks like it was lifted right from Transformers except for the fact that KITT transforms for one type of car into another. The Bionic Woman is spinning in her test chamber.

I saw an episode of the Bionic Woman. Steve Austin was spinning in his space shuttle. Or whatever. Was he an astronaut?

How in the world are they going to explain this? At the least morph-o-skin had a psuedo-explanation. What do you wanna bet the closest they come is a wise crack about KITT's "new ability". Then we're just supposed to accept it.
Looks like it's basically a suped up Ford commercial.

Original Trans-Am? I think you mean third generation Trans-Am. And Smokey and the Bandit undoubtedly helped the sales of the second generation.

Which is why any of us thought it was cool and gave this new version a chance.

I can't recall any single hour of television that offended me creatively quite so profoundly as the series premiere of Knight Rider. Let's see, there was:
1) The giant KR on the bottom of KITT. Shouldn't it be KI for Knight Industries?) 2) The predicted one liner "explaining" KITTs new abilities as a "new program". Since when does software magically allow metal to split into pieces and rearrange itself? 3) The TOTAL lack of character development. Why bother with actually letting us get to know these people when we can jump right to introducing an evil conspiracy. 5) The first 15 minutes of the story involved the very important matter of getting back to the base... how thrilling. 6) The blatant effort to distract us from these issues by throwing a half naked woman at us in the first 10 minutes and a string of sex and nerd jokes thereafter.
