I assumed since he was looking at newer vehicles (CR-V, Rav4, and Freelander), that he'd be looking at a (Liberty) Cherokee, not a (Cherokee) Cherokee. I stand corrected though.

Since we're discussing offroaders, do you know about the new Jeep Scrambler and the Jeep Compass being confirmed for production, Snay?

Oh, and call it the Rio Grande. You'll know it'll never wreck [Wink]

You know there has already BEEN a Jeep Scrambler, right? Got a link?

The Compass looks elite.

That prototype from "Tango & Cash" would be cool to have.
I mean, if the chassis is strong enough to absorb the recoil of a sidemounted! 40mm gatling gun, it must be right sturdy! :-)

I know there used to be a Jeep Scrambler, I'm saying they're bringing it back. TJ-L long-wheel base and TJ+ short-wheel base versions.

I wouldn't call the Toyota RSC concept a SUV, since it's missing the 'U' part (Utility). It's more of a rally sports car, hence the name RSC (Rally Sport Concept). Plus those tires have very little room vertically, which wouldn't be good for harsh offroading.

THIS is actually a very good SUV for both offroading and race track handling

I never heard about Honda building a truck. They don't even sell one in Japan.

Well, I was going to post about how I woke up this morning to see heavy snow, several more inches on the ground, after the forecasters said it wouldn't start until after noon today.

But seeing as how this topic has diverged about SUV's, I don't think I'll bother...

Snow... well the last time I saw snow was in March '02 at Great Mistakes... er, Great Lakes IL during boot camp.

Other wise living in places like California, Hawaii, Florida, South Carolina I don't see a lot of snow. SUV's on the other hand I do see a lot of. [Wink] Unfortunately.

I know the RSC is a concept, but I think it's such a cool concept. I don't exactly see your point Matt, I'm sure it'd have a good rally suspension. Besides, my lil' RSC looks like it'd literally eat that Porsche of yours. [Razz]

Woot!

Lots of snow on the ground. We had a storm yesterday, this storm now, and then we're getting a THIRD storm later tonight (snow thunder, too). I'm staying inside where its warm, and I'm going to clean the apartment and try to get caught up on my laundry.

Well, we went to have another look at the Honda CR-V today. Just missed the dealership closing, although we did manage to get a brochure. All the same it doesn't do a lot for us.

So we then went to have another look at the Rav4. It's still potentially in competition, but now we know we can afford a Freelander it's fading fast. We also tried sitting in the Toyota Land Cruiser - it's huge! And expensive (about 45K). I also tried out the MR2 roadster, which I'm not allowed to have. Damn. B(
