I guess "reality" T.V. really isn't all that "real" now is it?

That just bothers me on so many levels. There's no way I'd allow my kids to be out of contact like that, and with a bunch of strangers to boot. I suppose the parents had to sign something that prevents them from suing CBS.

This is just another example of people who should NOT be allowed to have kids. Too bad it didn't turn into "Lord of the Flies" with the kids killing the TV crew and every executive at CBS.

Well I heard on the radio that some of the kids got sick when they drank bleach which was placed in an open can of soda. Another girl got burns on her face while trying to cook with a stove. Real smooth CBS.

^ That's not quite wrong, but not quite right, either. For the longest time, many people were taught that "none" is always singular. I think it's still in some tests, test guides, and style manuals as being that way. It really should be based on context whether "none" is singular or plural. This particular example could go either way, but seems awkward to me as singular.

I was always taught to mentally add "of the $ITEM/S" after "none" to figure out singular versus plural. So it would be "none (of the children) were eliminated" but "none (of the wonderful, wonderful food I brought to this potluck) was eaten".

Many, many years ago when I was twenty-three I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be. This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red. My father fell in love with her and soon they, too, were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life For my daughter was my mother, 'cause she was my father's wife. To complicate the matter, even though it brought me joy I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby then became a brother-in-law to dad And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad For if he was my uncle, then that also made him brother To the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my step-mother.
My father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run And he became my grand-child, 'cause he was my daughter's son. My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue Because, although she is my wife, she's my grandmother too.
If my wife is my grandmother, then I am her grandchild And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild This has got to be the strangest thing I ever saw As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa.
Chorus I'm my own grandpa I'm my own grandpa It sounds funny I know but it really is so
Oh, I'm my own grandpa
