FTW, to me, is part of the new, more fanboyish generation of leetspeak, like "LOLZ" and "lulz". At least I never heard FTW on the internet or in multiplayer games until about a year ago, and thought it meant "Fuck The World", since that's the only way I'd seen that acronym used before.

I've seen "FTW" been used in the context of "For The Win."
For What It's Worth = FWIW.

Convicted sex offenders who used the Internet to help them commit their crimes will be banned from using the Internet under a measure signed into law Thursday.
The bill applies to people who, for example, lured a potential victim through e-mail or other electronic messages. It also affects paroled sex offenders under lifetime supervision, but exempts computer work done as part of a job or search for employment.
And there's another state I can't ever move to. That...really fucking sucks, because I was looking to move to the NYC area & was considering Jersey as a cheaper alternative. My home state of CT has a similar thing where any internet presence--any email, any blog, any forum name--has to be registered with the police or charges can be brought,.

Thanks - it's just that, for me it's also the acronym of another music webboard I post to... so sometimes it's hard to look past established acronyms.

So what do you think about some of the comments posted on the article's page? Lots of people seem to think it's utterly stupid to spend that kind of money on memorabilia to "re-live your youth." Don't you want to smash people in the side of the face with a whiffle bat sometimes? I mean, it's OK to spend that kind of money over time on baseball, NASCAR, football, etc, memorabilia - jerseys, balls, hats, posters, coasters, glasses, mugs, steins, bedspreads, jackets, coats - but if it's a TV show and not a sport, it's a waste of money? God, at least Trek has a message. Sports are just entertainment.
