Basic accuracy from studio model to CGI is "too much"? Dont bitch to me when we get a stock Excelsior as Enterprise B!

There's nothing of the La Forge torture scene where Soran apparently stopped and restarted La Forge's heart.
There was also a short feature on filming the Enterprise saucer section model crashing on the planet surface.
You are kidding me - No Soran Torture bit!?! FFS! That is a key part of the movie - that NEVER made sense leaving out.
Generations is the MOST chopped and changed of all the Trek movies and it suffers for it. It's what happens when movie execs place too much faith in preview screenings to small audiences.
And the saucer section crash bit just sounds like they lifted it straight from the The Making of Generations video cassette, that came free with any DS9 or Voyager video cassette purchase back in 1995 or something.

quote:I don't understand why they can't include the trailers. They had them on all the other SE's so far. AT least on the RC2 versions. How come Paramount doesn't own the rights to its own trailers???
It's so weird, who wants a trailer of a movie added to a DVD holding the same movie?
Trailers are made to showcase a movie in places where the movie isn't. Going to the "Extras"-section of a DVD and seeing only "Cast Info" and "Trailers" is kind of a letdown to me.
I rented "Out of Time" with the Denzel, great extras. Some bloopers and audition tapes, kind of cool.
Two weeks ago I bought the "Conan Der Zerstrer"-DVD, though, and the "EXTRA-EXTRA"-section only held trailers of other movies from the mid-90's, like "Blue Steel" and "TimeCop". It was so depressing. Also, the movie (Conan II) was in 4:3 and it was edited for PG-13.

You're probably right about the special features being lifted from other sources. At the end of each one they tell you to buy Generations on VHS and DVD. It seems somewhat redundant to tell me that.
I just hope that FC SE is done a little better with new, extended or deleted scenes reinserted into the movie.
Overall though, Generations is still my favorite of the odd-number movie curse.

I've wondered abot a First Contact SE: Is there known to have been any deleted scenes?
Of course, the ultimate erection would be an extended battle sequence with the Borg but I really doubt ant of that was cut.
Mabye Paramount will take a tip from Lucas and release another-modified- DVD every six-ten years to make more money.

This is only true of the first two, as far as I know. Or, I guess there is a little reediting in VI, maybe, if I recall correctly. But that is it.
(I am very ambivalent about the idea of slipping cut scenes back into movies, as they tend to be cut for good reasons. Like, in Wrath of Khan, the extended version of the "What about Reliant, she's on her way?" scene may have some extra stuff going on in it, but Bibi Besch's line readings just aren't as good as they were in the take that was originally there. Anyway, when they're good they're great, but often they're just mediocre, or worse, actively detrimental.)
