It's been slow lately and in addition I am bored. So what's your favorite class and what do you like about it?

I like the Connie refit because in the Slow Motion Pciture depsite being a bad movie, the ship was absolutely beautiful. The graceful lines yet retains alot of the design elements of the E-nil.

Excelsior class. The lack of useless detailings on the hull and it's overall shape is very charming, IMHO.

Well...at the risk of being likened to UM's fan boy portrayal...I really did like the Akira class.. I thought the design was unique while still looking very Federation.I like the overslung portion of the hull that leads back to the aft pod. I just thought it was a nice, tough looking design.

Steamrunner and Saber were neat for the same reasons. They were different while still being familiar.

Defiant.

Tough little ship. Can give and take a pounding. Maneuverable. Fast.

No excessive luxury. No umpteen science labs. No exposed bridge module. No windows in vulnerable locations. No pencil-thin nacelle pylons. No fragile connecting necks.

These ships are built for one purpose only and they excel at it. A specialised design is always the better choice given any type of mission.

I think I let out the fanboy in me a bit [Big Grin]

I'm partial to the New Orleans. I like small ships, the "tin can fleet," as it were.

So what are the best design features on your favorite ship design that you like?

Where I am coming from is that what people like about the ships either because it's cool looking or has something deeper than just the looks of the class.

Well:
Ambassador - That thing looks cool, and probably kicked some Romulan but at Narendara 4. It doesn't have the too-combatish looks f the Sovvies or the space hotel look of the Galaxies. Biult in the 2330's and still frontline in the 2370's, that is one hot piece of duranium.

Honorable mentions include, E-nil refit, Springfield, New Orleans, Cheyenne, Niagara, Galaxy, and Constellation.

I told you. I like small utilitarian ships. I like how manueverable they look, how "bursting at the seams" they usually are.
